High top Sneakers
This is not a shoe blog but I’ve seen this poster that I may add to my collection, but it’s not on Amazon but on Pop Chart Lab. I haven’t been wearing my Adidas Attitude sneakers in a while since I bought the Converse ERX sneakers. I still have my Adidas Superstar sneakers, as I will have to break them out someday.
I still have these Globe shoes, but they are a lot dusty as I have been wearing them to work in summer of 2012 (bought in early 2010). I do not wear Chuck Taylors anymore because I do not wish to get flat-footed. I am still coming up with a name for my second webcomic but I will not use an actual typeface for a logo, but will be handwritten.
I often run in high-tops and Adidas Superstars and not Nike running shoes (I don’t think it would be aesthetically possible to draw these shoes on a character like that, but I still draw Adidas Superstars on a character).
The top row is the Converse ERX 200 (eBay), Adidas Superstar sliver (Amazon), and Adidas Attitude (Shoebacca). The bottom row is the Reebok high tops (Amazon), Globe high tops (Marshalls/T.J. Maxx—“T.K. Maxx” in the UK), and Adidas Superstar red (Amazon). Zoom Permalink

Advice for Webcomic Artists

Here are the two things that describes a webcomic: Characters, About, and Archives. A characters page is that the characters appear in your webcomic and tells them the information about their personality, what clothes they usually wear, how old they are, and their list of likes and dislikes, and an about page is that what the webcomic is about, including the creator/author’s short bio.

Restoring Your Webcomic’s Audience

Last week I changed the schedule for Red and Kitsune to Thursdays and Saturdays, starting this August and ending on September 30. The comic’s regular schedule is Wednesdays and Fridays. You need to update your comics regularly, rather than keeping your readers waiting, because waiting gets them nowhere. Take occasional breaks if you’re going on vacation.

The anatomy of Red and Kitsune - version 2

It’s been a year since I made the first version, as it was originally drawn using Photoshop’s pen tool, predating the Wacom tablet and Manga Studio. If you’re feeling nostalgic about the Sim games I used to play, there’s an album here and here, as I managed to salvage them last night.

This is a Tumblr-only exclusive post, so I cannot post it on Hatena.

Shounen-style Self Portrait
This is my first try drawing myself in shounen-style, retaining the face and hairstyle, giving a tattered gi top under a blue and green shirt, JNCO baggy shorts and same high top sneakers, but with white tongues and orange accents on the sides and back of the shoes instead of blue. Zoom Permalink

Sagwa, the Chinese Siamese Cat fan art — Preview
This will be the fan art for Sagwa, the Chinese Siamese Cat. Although I’m not a fan of Chinese culture due to various reasons such as this three-decades-old policy (which is later relaxed), This children’s show lasted from September 3, 2001 (though they aired the seventh episode following the September 11 attacks) to October 5, 2002. Only 40 episodes have aired as the creators of the show decided to take a break on the show October 1, 2001 to February 11, 2002, then to March 2002 and later summer of 2002.
The information about the show can be found here, and the archived version of the site (since it has been retired) can also be found here. They will be catgirls (though Dongwa will be a catboy). Although I am not a fan of drawing catgirls due to various reasons, but here we go — Sagwa will be dressed in red (Adidas Attitude high top sneakers), Dongwa will be dressed in green (Converse ERX 360), and Sheegwa will be dressed in blue (pink Adidas Superstars). Self portrait Shounen style with niece - Process
While focusing on drawing without distractions and getting back to work on R&K to regain its audience, this will be the new self-portrait with my niece Kaila. Although my upcoming self-portrait is 7 heads tall, Kaila’s will be around 6-3/4ths tall, due to her preteen height. There will be “chibi” looks of myself and my niece, but that will hold soon. You can tear a poem apart to see what makes it tick… You’re back with the mystery of having been moved by words. The best craftsmanship always leaves holes and gaps… so that something that is not in the poem can creep, crawl, flash or thunder in.

Kamille in my first webcomic
This is the first time drawing over a wire skeleton without shapes, as this character is loosely based on my younger niece, portrayed as the only girly girl of the cast. Despite not wearing a dress, she wears a plaid skirt over her skinny jeans. Most of the characters wear branded, high top sneakers (including Adidas Superstar sneakers) — even without the Adidas name (The tongues on the Adidas Metro Attitude high top sneakers will always have the three stripes on the top and sides of the shoes). Self-Portrait changes (to myself and my niece)

Two weeks ago I bought this book from Amazon. I haven’t started trying out my self-portrait (including my niece) in this style. I came up with the outfit for my self-portrait - a blue and green baggy T-shirt (that matches the colors of the blog) under a gi fighter top that have the sleeves ripped off and is tied with a black belt, JNCO baggy shorts, white split-toe socks, and white and blue Adidas Attitude high top sneakers with orange accents, but with white tongues.
