WordPress and Squarespace

Starting soon, I’m going to use WordPress with ComicPress again (self-hosted) and Squarespace (for my new portfolio, comic hub, and blog). For some reason that Tumblr gets too limited because of the errors I many encounter (such as failed to post or reblog something, or the post gets deleted when the user is away while they try to edit typographical errors in the post).

Rurouni Kenshin Preview Hazel from Seconds Preview

Double-Fan Art Project Preview

I’ve decided to pick up the Fan Art project again before the end of October. I’m doing two fan art projects today, one being four characters (names are in Eastern order) from Rurouni Kenshin - Wandering Samurai (Nobuhiro Watsuki), the other is Hazel from Seconds (Bryan Lee O’Malley), which will limit six colors (including shading).

I wanted these to give these an 1960s/1970s/1980s feel, but I’ll update the Kenshin one with better color schemes for the text and others.

Three Vintage Calculators

I own three vintage calculators. The first one is the Canon P170-DH calculator, the one that has the time and date. The second one is the Sharp Compet CS-2115D calculator, the only one that doesn’t print. The third one is a TI-5630 calculator, which isn’t working because of an unrecoverable error.

Inktober 2014
I know that the Copic Multiliners will be replaced with Sakura Brush pens, but I enhanced the levels, slightly lowered the brightness and maximized the contrast in Photoshop. Also, this one is wearing geta sandals instead of the high top sneakers. Zoom Permalink

First laptop & that SunSet Swish drawing

I remembered when I got my first laptop at 15 years old. Then there was this drawing back in 2007 while I was cleaning out stuff. I threw away most of the stuff while starting a new chapter. I may have to repurchase Daft Punk’s Discovery album because it broke. I managed to get some of the items to my Android phone before I plan to sell my old XP to eBay. I had my first laptop for almost 10 years.

Rin from Inuyasha
A young orphan child who has turned into a “hipster” look. The logo on her shirt is a fictional company, and the background is the Nike Dunk high tops and the logo is based on the Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars logo. In this picture she is donning a pair of Beats wireless headphones. I don’t like drawing characters who are barefooted (unless they are wearing geta or sandals) — see TV Tropes entry Does Not Like Shoes. She dons a pair of red Chucks instead of Converse ERX or Adidas Metro Attitude high top sneakers. The line art is drawn in Manga Studio without anti-aliasing: that would be easier to color in Photoshop.
Rin is portrayed by Brenna O’Brien (Mamiko Noto for original Japanese). Inuyasha created by Rumiko Takahashi. Zoom Permalink

The Reason why I’m loving high top sneakers
This is not a shoe blog or a fitness blog but I know that running in high tops are not a thing. I still run in high tops rather than actual running shoes. I also have Adidas Superstar sneakers that I will break them out someday. I’ve been wearing these sneakers for a while. The other month is that I have a Medium account (which I don’t use it much as you can’t put artwork or photographs on there). Phil Dhingra has a similar service called Stereotastic since 3D Porch’s demise last year after he saved it twice but failed to save it for a third time since Fujifilm hasn’t purchased 3D Porch as the lights were turned off. Minor updates to Brooke Matsumoto
I gave a minor update to Ryo (Kitsune)’s older sister, as her human ears are a bit smaller, her Converse ERX 250 high top sneakers are twice the size and are white and red and has a 姉 (big sister) character on the tongues of the shoes, and her tights are blue. Her basketball shorts does not have the number 88 on it anymore. Zoom Permalink

I don’t care if you’re a billionaire. If you haven’t started a company, really gambled your resume and your money and maybe even your marriage to just go crazy and try something on your own, you’re no pirate and you aren’t in the club.

Brave Fighter Self Portrait

I’m ready to fight for Japan! I changed the visuals by making the JNCO shorts touch the shins. The split-toe socks are a little baggier. Instead of fighting barefoot, I fight with Adidas Attitude high top sneakers (but sometimes wears a pair of geta with said socks.

Chibi version coming soon.

It's (Yet) Another Chat Post, which is a follow up to "Stop using Deviant Art (so hard)"

Me: They've got no idea what terrible fury they've just unleashed...

Mianju: Huh?

Me: Artworks and photographs getting removed from Deviant Art due to violations, such as infringement of copyrights, inappropriate content, and other things -- even professional artists will get their artwork removed due to the same things they will encounter until they get a permanent ban notice...

Mianju: You can go ahead and ask me about why I got mine removed from D.A.

Me: Sure. But hey, I don't complain. Tumblr has over 280 employees, Automatic (the company who owns WordPress) have almost 270 employees, Squarespace has almost 350 employees.

Mianju: What about Behance? and Blogger?

Me: 138 employees, according to its LinkedIn page. Blogger is a service. Squarespace is a SaaS (for those unfamiliar, this is short for "software as a service").

Tumblr user - "callmefetch": We don't have LinkedIn. Only professionals can use this social network.

Me: Here's this - 98 percent of D.A.'s nonprofessional staff are unpaid, and the remaining 2 percent are paid. They can fup off for all I care.

Tumblr user - "yukihyo": I have the same problem a couple of years ago, Cory.

Me: Did you get your stuff removed?

Tumblr user - "yukihyo": Yes, for inappropriate content. Do you draw or photograph anything inappropriate, Mr. Roberts-the-second?

Me: My father never instructed me to draw or photograph anything inappropriate. Since I created my first webcomic, the characters are fully clothed, and for the next one, it'll do the same thing.

Tumblr user - "datmadgemini": I (geese honk)ing love you for this!

Me: Yup, they should know when I throw a complaint to them...

Mianju: Yeah, go ahead.

Me: This is why I'm not going all "Hulk" like that. I got mine removed years ago because of copyright.

Mianju: So... when are you going to (censored) about the staff and tell them to "fup off"?

Me: Soon. I'm not here to "attack the artists" or something like that. These two grassholes named "damochakat" and "wolfina-the-hybrid" need to take my advice about not using Deviant Art anymore, or risk getting a permanent ban notice the next time they log in...

(And the next day...)

Mianju: Permission to attack the Deviant Are "help desk" staff.

Me: Permission granted. Fire at will.
