You can tear a poem apart to see what makes it tick… You’re back with the mystery of having been moved by words. The best craftsmanship always leaves holes and gaps… so that something that is not in the poem can creep, crawl, flash or thunder in.

Kamille in my first webcomic
This is the first time drawing over a wire skeleton without shapes, as this character is loosely based on my younger niece, portrayed as the only girly girl of the cast. Despite not wearing a dress, she wears a plaid skirt over her skinny jeans. Most of the characters wear branded, high top sneakers (including Adidas Superstar sneakers) — even without the Adidas name (The tongues on the Adidas Metro Attitude high top sneakers will always have the three stripes on the top and sides of the shoes). Self-Portrait changes (to myself and my niece)

Two weeks ago I bought this book from Amazon. I haven’t started trying out my self-portrait (including my niece) in this style. I came up with the outfit for my self-portrait - a blue and green baggy T-shirt (that matches the colors of the blog) under a gi fighter top that have the sleeves ripped off and is tied with a black belt, JNCO baggy shorts, white split-toe socks, and white and blue Adidas Attitude high top sneakers with orange accents, but with white tongues.

2014 version 2013 version

Lyndsay - MySims fan art

This dark skinned blonde character first appeared in MySims Kingdom as the player’s companion, MySims Agents as a dispatch mission recruiter, and MySims SkyHeroes as a playable character. I drew her in Axl Rose-esque attire. Compared to the 2013 version (below), it was originally sketched in mechanical pencil, Adobe Photoshop and a mouse. This is all the same traditional tools, the same program and Manga Studio.

In MySims Kingdom, Lyndsay’s attire consists of a white shirt that is tied in a knot over a black-and-white striped bandeau top, shorts, and brown Jack Sparrow-esque boots.

MySims series belong to Electronic Arts, but in late 2011 the MySims official site (before EA got two Consumerist “Golden Poo” trophies in 2012 and 2013) was replaced with The Sims Portal, meaning that they are not developing any more MySims games (as some of the former EA/The Sims Studio staff decided to work at Zynga).

Returning to the Drawing Board

I have returned to the drawing board after watching the FIFA World Cup as today is the last day. I’m going to update all of the social networks and draw things frequently (including the comics) as well as other things this week. So I have decided to redesign DOS Kuroda, draw two comics and update the comic, and draw a non-chibified shounen-style self-portrait, as well as late-wedding picture of Rinda Kat and her husband. Also, my Disqus is somewhat not working as I tried to relogin using my Twitter account, I had to revoke it and re-authorize it again.

There will still be more fan artwork until the seventh one, as you can view my previous fan artwork that I’ve done since last year. I’ve been coming up with a clever name on my second webcomic (which will be WordPress/ComicPress-powered, rather than using the Tumblr platform because it gets too limited (as you don’t get a lot of likes when you post your artwork).

Manga Mania Shounen - drawing action-style Japanese comics (Christopher Hart)

This is the first non-chibi book that has arrived today, as the original order was backordered after tossing an email to Amazon last week after they said it was back-ordered after waiting patiently for four weeks.

As quoted last week by them: “Further to help you with this, I see the item ‘Manga Mania’ is available from other sellers on our site.” I originally ordered the item on May 26th before World Cup started off. After a back-order nightmare, I canceled the original order, and reordered the same item.

I haven’t touched the book as of yet, even though I still draw “chibified” characters on Red and Kitsune. What else that I could improve my webcomic journey?

50 EA Titles are being ousted

Me: 50 EA titles, including Command & Conquer Generals and its Zero Hour expansion will be ousted.

Earl: Huh?

Me: GameSpy was shut down last year, and they ended all hosted services for games, which impacts some older EA titles.

Earl: I don't have the game anymore, Cory . . .

Me: On the end of June, 50 EA titles will no longer have online features, including MySims Party/SkyHeroes and SimCity Creator.

Dad: What?

Me: EA ended the MySims franchise in late 2010 after developing SkyHeroes. Zynga hired the former Sims Studio/MySims staff after the MySims official site was taken offline a year later, along with the online features on the PC version of MySims.

Dad: And now the new SimCity has offline mode?

Me: Yup. This means they can play the game offline without having to connect to the internet. SimCity was released a year ago -- which was marred by serious server issues that anyone wasn't able to play the game as the "server busy" message was thrown in.

Earl: Nobody is going to pour their money into that game.

Me: C&C Generals was released 11 years ago, including its expansion pack.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf Review

Benjamin Franklin once said that “nothing is certain in life but death and taxes”. Pretty bleak huh?! Thankfully living life in the charming world of Animal Crossing isn’t quite so bleak, and New Leaf is the most fun and charming of the series to date. Even with the mortgage repayments…

If you’re unfamiliar with the Animal Crossing series…where have you been? Hiding under a rock like a pill-bug? (AC reference). The franchise is undoubtedly the most popular life simulation game around and is beloved by little girls and grown *ahem* men alike. To sum up the experience, you live out your life in a village full of adorable animals, whilst saving money for furniture and house expansions. That’s not enough to get you excited? Well you don’t do anything particularly out of the ordinary per say, but AC’s charms emanate to make the whole experience a deeply involving one.

As of June 2014, I am no longer on Animal Crossing: New Leaf due to responsibility and other significant real life issues since the 3DS is miraculously restored. If you’re still playing this game on the 3DS you won’t be affected, although many YouTube partners picked it up. If you are still looking for me, I will be on FacebookGoogle+ and Twitter.

Think about not living with your parents anymore

This is not a fandom (or fan-fiction or “shipping”) blog. When you grow older, you’ll have to make your own decisions, such as not living with your parents anymore (or similar). If they want to live alone, they’ll need a paying job, not just a high-paying job (freelancers can live alone, too!).

Nobody likes living with parents anymore. For me, it takes around two hours (one for drawing the sketch, the other for computer work (around three hours for coloring/cel shading), inking in Manga Studio and adding text in Adobe Photoshop) to make the comics. Living with their parents is never the best decision, because they can end up for retirement, or even better (or worse), end up kicking them out of their parents’ home.
